【Activity Report】Business trip to Gifu! Mr.Omori, our COO, participated in the “Ceramic Tile Mino 2021 Exhibitors Meeting”.

Hello, this is Omori.
Last week, I visited the Kasahara Ceramic Industry Cooperative in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture.

I also participated in the “Ceramic Tile Mino 2021 Exhibitors Meeting” held in Gifu Prefecture and introduced our company’s participation in the online exhibition for Africa.

The “Ceramic Tile Mino 2021 Exhibitors Meeting” was a briefing session for companies exhibiting at the “Building & Construction Materials Exhibition 2021,” organized by Nikkei Inc. and scheduled to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from March 9 (Tue) to 12 (Fri), 2021.

Tajimi City in Gifu Prefecture has long been famous as a pottery village and is the largest tile producer in Japan!

Tiles are also used in African houses, and most of them are imported from overseas.
Most of the tiles used in African houses are imported from overseas, especially in Nigeria, where most tiles are imported from China and Spain.

It is said that there are more than 10 million people in Nigeria in the middle class earning an average annual income of $3,000 or more.
This means that they have enough money to buy a new house for around 5 million yen.
Hence, there is a rush to build in Nigeria’s capital cities of Abuja and Lagos.

It seems that high quality Japanese tiles will be in great demand in Africa.

I will continue our efforts to give you a good news.
Please look forward to our future business development.

I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Kasahara Ceramic Industry Cooperative for taking time out of their busy schedule to respond to our request.
Thank you very much!
