Starting March 8, 2021 (Monday), we will launch a new service that provides free support for creating various documents necessary for trade (invoices, packing lists, etc.) for Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in trade business.<\/p>\n
Due to the contraction of economic activity around the world caused by the spread of the new coronavirus, Japan's exports in the first half of 2020 fell to their largest level in the past 10 years.
\nDue to increased consumption during the COVID-19 pandemic, a shortage of containers caused by increased demand for medical supplies such as protective clothing, and soaring international shipping costs due to reduced air cargo flights, as well as the increased complexity of operations due to the diversification of trade, the burden on export operations has become even greater, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises.
\nFurthermore, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) lack sufficient personnel for trade administration, and many have employees handling these tasks in addition to their other responsibilities. As a result, the creation of complex trade documents is a significant burden, and outsourcing is difficult if trade business does not occur frequently.<\/p>\n
Therefore, with the cooperation of its business partner Sankyu Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sankyu), STANDAGE has launched a new service to alleviate the burden of trade operations for small and medium-sized enterprises. This service, called "DiGiTRAD," is a comprehensive digital trade service provided by STANDAGE, and its trade concierge function provides free support for creating various documents necessary for trade (such as invoices and packing lists) to users of the service.<\/p>\n
Through a capital and business alliance with Sankyu in March 2020, we have linked "DiGiTRAD" with Sankyu's international small-package transport service "SBY," and are jointly working to build an international transport service that enables safe, secure, and easy trade, as well as to promote the digital transformation of logistics operations.<\/p>\n
The reason for launching this new service is that "DiGiTRAD" not only provides a simple international shipping cost estimate, but also has a system that automates most of the various documents required for trade, significantly reducing the workload.<\/p>\n
Initially, we will offer this service as free support, primarily to small and medium-sized enterprises affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the future, depending on the situation, we plan to consider a performance-based fee model based on the number of documents prepared for trade.<\/p>\n
