May 20, 2022 STANDGAE Co., Ltd. (Nigeria Branch CEO: Dave Gabriel \/ Executive Officer:<\/span>Inoue Shun) has begun a demonstration experiment in Nigeria to develop water purification infrastructure using "Poly-Glu," a Japanese wastewater purification agent made from natto bacteria.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>It is said that as many as 600 million people in developing countries, including Nigeria, still lack access to safe water, half of whom are in sub-Saharan Africa, including Nigeria.<\/span>
\nAnd 300,000 people die every year (800 a day) because they cannot secure safe water.<\/span>) children have lost their lives.
\nIn order to solve this social problem, STANDGAE Co., Ltd. has established a water purification infrastructure in Nigeria, the most populous country in Sub-Saharan Africa, using a product called PolyGlu, which can purify polluted water, to remove mud and algae from wastewater and provide clean water to local people.<\/span>

[Demonstration experiment details]
\n<\/span>Until now, local people have been using rainwater collected in wells, but the water contains a lot of bacteria, which is a health hazard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Three-tiered tanks were installed on site, and wastewater pumped up from the well was stored in the third tank, where polyglue was added and stirred.<\/span>
\n<\/span>Once the waste has been separated into clean water and dirt, gravity is used to funnel the water into the second filter layer made of stones, gravel, cotton, etc.<\/span>Finally, chlorine or other chemicals are added to sterilize.<\/span>
\n<\/span>This septic tank makes it possible to supply safe water cheaply and easily without having to build expensive facilities.
\n<\/span>Through this initiative, it has become possible to secure drinking water for approximately 2,000 people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nigeria is enjoying a demographic boom, with its population reaching 200 million. This is projected to grow to 400 million by 2030, and it is expected that the number of people without access to safe water will also increase.<\/span>
