[Activity Report] Visit to the Ghana Embassy

【活動報告】ガーナ大使館 訪問

Hello, this is Omori, COO.
The other day, I visited the Ghanaian Embassy with our sales team.

When you think of the Republic of Ghana, the image that comes to mind is that it is a producer of cocoa, the raw material for chocolate.
As you might imagine, approximately 74% of Japan's cocoa beans are imported from Ghana.

In fact, Ghana's main industries are agriculture and mining, and its top exports are cocoa beans, gold, and oil.
It is also ranked second in the world in terms of cocoa bean production (1st place is Côte d'Ivoire).

The purpose of this visit to the Ghanaian Embassy is to explore the possibility of agricultural collaboration in Ghana, where agriculture, including cocoa beans, is a major industry.
Ghana is a neighboring country of Nigeria, where our office is located, so it also has the advantage of making it easier to expand business there.

Agriculture in Ghana is dominated by small-scale farming (farms of two hectares or less) that mainly use traditional cultivation methods that depend on rainwater.
However, due to factors such as poor weather in recent years and land degradation, productivity has been sluggish, making improving productivity a challenge.
Additionally, child labor on cocoa farms has come to be seen as a problem in recent years, and there is a need to make such supply chains more transparent in the future.

Our service DiGiTRAD handles the export of agricultural products such as agricultural machinery and fertilizers.
We hope that our activities, including supporting the export of agricultural products, conducting demonstration experiments on agricultural fertilizers, and streamlining the supply chain that LogiLab handles, will help solve the problems faced by those working in agriculture in Ghana.

We aim to make import/export business safe, secure and easy, and to improve the efficiency of on-site work.
In order to make the DiGiTRAD service like this, we will continue to listen to the opinions of people in the field and make further updates.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at the Ghana Embassy for taking the time to assist us.
thank you very much.
