The persistently weak yen is increasing export interest among small and medium-sized businesses, and sales to Southeast Asia, Europe, and the US are also increasing.

STANDAGE Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akinori Adachi; hereinafter referred to as STANDAGE), a developer and provider of digital trade platforms, announced that the number of companies contracted for its trade outsourcing package service for small and medium-sized enterprises, "DigiTrad," has exceeded 150 as of the end of February 2024. Launched in 2022, "DigiTrad" is a service offered to domestic companies that are interested in overseas expansion due to shrinking domestic demand and the persistent depreciation of the yen, but have been deterred by a lack of resources, expertise, or language skills.

Standage is working on developing and operating trade DX products that will elevate analog, legacy trade infrastructure to the next generation stage, including a new trade settlement system that utilizes blockchain and stable coins. As part of its efforts to increase the number of domestic trade players and expand the market, Standage is working to support companies with no experience in expanding overseas.

As of the end of August 2023, the cumulative number of contracted companies exceeded 100, and the products range widely, including medical devices and pharmaceuticals, supplements, food products, educational materials and toys, raw materials, agricultural supplies, and sake.

Standage has local bases in Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt and Kenya, and has been engaged in actual trade with Africa for several years since its founding, building up know-how and relationships. As a result, Standage is currently demonstrating great strength in the Middle East and Africa as a market development destination for Digitrad contract companies, which it supports in exporting.

In addition, since fiscal year 2023, we have expanded our sales channels and increased our workforce, resulting in a greater track record of establishing trade with Southeast Asia and Europe/America.

Please refer to past press releases for examples of trade development projects by our contracted companies.

Our goal is to introduce this system to 300 companies by the end of fiscal year 2024, and through supporting exports by domestic companies, we will contribute to the expansion of global and Japanese trade markets and regional revitalization.

About DigiTrad

"DigiTrad" is a comprehensive trade package service developed exclusively by Standage that provides a one-stop service covering everything from sales channel development to negotiations, contracts, settlements, and administrative procedures related to logistics and customs clearance.

Due to the rapid depreciation of the yen in the second half of 2010 and the government's efforts to expand exports, Japan's overall export volume has been on a gradual upward trend. However, when looking at the export volume of small and medium-sized enterprises in urban and rural areas, the gap is still widening.

Digitrad was created as a package service to handle all aspects of trade, from market development to contracts, negotiations, payments, and logistics, to enable Japanese manufacturers, who face these challenges, to expand overseas more freely and easily.

This is a service that does not just systemize some operations or provide consulting, but can completely handle the entire flow of trade.
