STANDAGE Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akinori Adachi; hereinafter referred to as STANDAGE) announced at the "Plug and Play Japan Batch2 EXPO," held over two days from March 6th to 7th, 2019, that it plans to begin a proof-of-concept experiment for trade between Japan and Nigeria using its "Shake Hands Contract (hereinafter referred to as SHC)" service from the end of March to April 2019.

In the demonstration experiment, a used car will be purchased from FAIRWAY Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takeo Ajima), the order will be received by STANDAGE's Nigeria branch, and SHC will handle the trade operations, escrow, and remittance.

SHC is an escrow platform for business-to-business trade settlements based on blockchain technology. By utilizing blockchain technology, it enables credit and international money transfers without the need for banks or cash. This brings new trade opportunities to small and medium-sized enterprises and second-hand goods companies that previously had difficulty trading with banks.
We will proceed with this project with the goal of quickly launching an SHC service that is "fast, inexpensive, and easy to use," thereby overturning the conventional and cumbersome trade flow.
