Regarding a COVID-19 infection among our employees

One employee working at our company (Minato-ku, Tokyo) has tested positive for COVID-19 via PCR testing.
Although the employee in question is a sales representative, they were working from home and in an office setting, and therefore had no direct contact with customers or other related parties.

We will continue to prioritize the safety of our customers, stakeholders, and all employees, and will respond promptly in accordance with the policies of the government, local authorities, and other relevant organizations.
We kindly ask for your understanding, customers and all concerned parties.

  1. Employee's work status (as of June 7, 2021)
    May 29th (Sat) - 30th (Sun) Holiday
    May 31st (Mon) - June 1st (Tue): Come to the office (wear a mask)
    Wednesday, June 2nd: Working from home
    June 3rd (Thursday): Developed a fever, visited a medical institution, and underwent a PCR test.
    June 4th (Friday): Tested positive, currently self-isolating at home as instructed by the public health center.
  2. Close contacts (as of June 7, 2021)
    The health center's investigation revealed no close contacts.
    All executives and employees have been instructed to stay home since Friday, June 4th.
    No other employees besides the one in question are experiencing any health problems, and all executives and employees who underwent PCR testing at the company have tested negative.
  3. Our response
    - We conducted PCR tests at the company's expense for all executives and employees who were working in the office when the employee in question was at work, and confirmed that they were all negative.
    All executives and employees will be working from home until Friday, June 11th, while their health is monitored.
    We will disinfect the office and prohibit entry until the disinfection is complete.
  4. Our future guidelines for responding to COVID-19
    If you experience symptoms such as fever, cough, or sneezing, you will be required to work from home and may return to the office three days after you have recovered.
    - Urethane masks and cloth masks are prohibited; non-woven fabric masks must be worn.
    • Vaccination days will be considered working hours. Transportation costs to the vaccination site will also be covered by the company.
    Only those who have completed their vaccination or who have a designated replacement will be permitted to travel abroad.

To continue preventing the spread of COVID-19, our company will utilize teleworking, and when employees come to the office, we will thoroughly implement measures such as wearing masks, regular handwashing, gargling, hand sanitizing, and disinfecting and ventilating the office.

Furthermore, we ask for your understanding and consideration regarding the respect for the human rights and protection of personal information of the employee and their family.
