Kenta Omori, Executive Vice President of STANDAGE Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akinori Adachi; hereinafter referred to as STANDAGE), a company that develops and provides digital trading platforms, took the stage at the "6th Toranomon Summit" event held on Tuesday, July 11th, to give a presentation on his company's services and the current state of the industry.

■ About the Toranomon Summit

Toranomon Summit is an event hosted by Sumitomo Realty & Development Co., Ltd., and its purpose is to connect various tenants located in the office buildings owned by the company with startup companies.

The sixth event, held on July 11, 2023, primarily invited companies from the logistics, e-commerce, and mobility industries. It included presentations by 10 startup companies, as well as a networking event with tenant companies and venture capitalists.

Kenta Omori, co-founder and Executive Vice President of Standage, gave the presentation on behalf of the company.

In the approximately five-minute presentation, I focused on introducing Standage's core business: a new trade settlement system utilizing blockchain and digital currency.

If realized, this service would be a world first, enabling the simultaneous exchange of "payment" and "goods (bills of lading)" in trade, thereby hedging credit risk, shortening processing times, and reducing settlement fees in international trade settlements.

During the presentation, they also touched upon comparisons with other blockchain platforms in the trade finance sector that are competitors, emphasizing, "While other services all involve banks as intermediaries, our service enables simultaneous exchange without intermediaries. We believe we have an advantage in that we can provide a new trade settlement that is cheap, secure, and speedy."

In closing, the speaker encouraged attendees to consider providing funding and to cooperate with the Proof of Value (PoV) of the new trade settlement system.
