STANDAGE Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Akinori Adachi, hereinafter referred to as Standage) released the official version of "Digitrad Forwarding" (hereinafter referred to as the "System"), a service that enables instant acquisition and comparison of rough estimates of international logistics costs and centralized management of internal and external communications after a request, on October 1, 2023. The beta version of this system has been available since March 2023, and the system has been adjusted in function and modified in UI and UX through the provision of know-how by investor and major logistics company Sankyu Inc. and trial operation by several forwarders.
At the time of the official launch (October 2011), it will be possible to compare approximate logistics cost estimates from 10 major international logistics companies, such as Nissin Corporation and Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation, and to place orders. The company expects to have 10,000 users by the end of 2024.

■ Development Background
"Digitrad Forwarding" is a digital forwarding system developed with an emphasis on the perspective of logistics companies. As the wave of digital transformation to improve operational efficiency sweeps over the logistics industry, major companies are developing and utilizing their own systems. However, because they have focused on systemization at "points," smooth horizontal collaboration inside and outside the company has not been achieved, and inefficiencies in operations have become an issue.
According to interviews with major logistics companies, half of their working hours each day are spent checking and responding to emails and phone calls.
Even when it comes to introducing new DX systems, many logistics companies are hesitant due to the risks of changing existing operations, and these challenges are leading to delays in promoting DX and improving business efficiency across the industry.
■ Overview of "Digitrad Forwarding"
Digitrad Forwarding aims to solve the problems faced by both shippers and logistics companies (forwarders). Shippers can instantly obtain and review logistics cost estimates online, which previously took several days to a week to obtain.
In addition, after checking the rough estimate, customers can proceed to the actual ordering process directly from the same platform. For logistics companies, this significantly reduces the effort required to create a huge number of estimates with unknown accuracy, allowing them to allocate resources only to projects with high accuracy.
Digitrad Forwarding also uses a ticket system that allows for centralized management of each project on the platform, from requesting quotes and placing orders to communication between staff members.
The "Ticket" system was developed exclusively by Standage and allows for the management of all correspondence, including attached documents, by case, as well as the ability to communicate with internal and external staff via chat.
The official version that has just been released features rates from a total of 10 companies, including major international logistics companies Nissin Corporation and Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation (listed in alphabetical order) as of October 2011, and users can enter various conditions and obtain approximate quotes from each company.
From each participating company:"We feel that it is extremely convenient, as it has made interactions with shippers more efficient. In addition, since March we have been fully rolling out our digital forwarding service, Forward ONE, and we expect that it will be a good fit for us, as it will serve as a new channel and touchpoint for customers to learn about our services."(Mr. Yutaka Nakagawa, Logistics DX Promotion Office, Business Strategy Department, Nissin Corporation)"We were concerned that making it easier to compare prices with other companies would have more drawbacks than advantages, but we have been given a new perspective as it is a system that attracts customers with a sophisticated UI. We hope that by using this system, we will be able to develop a more diverse customer base."(Masuda Koji, Planning and Operations Department, Mitsubishi Logistics Corporation)
■ Future outlook
In addition to the 10 companies currently listed, discussions are underway with several other logistics companies to provide rates, with the aim of making it possible to obtain and compare approximate quotes from more than 50 companies on the system by 2024.
We are also currently providing information to the main users, shippers and trading companies, through Standage and participating logistics companies, and expect to gain 10,000 users by 2022.
Standage will continue to strive to realize a world where all countries around the world have equal access to everything, and will continue to work on developing and providing a trade DX platform that brings together all players involved in the trading industry and propels the entire trading industry to the next stage.
