2025.3.5
I spoke alongside our partner Progmat at the demonstration of a new trade settlement system.
From February 18th to 20th, 2025, the Economic Partnership Division of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry invited ASEAN negotiators and other officials to Japan for a three-day workshop, both in person and online, aimed at promoting economic and technical cooperation towards the implementation of e-commerce (including trade facilitation) by RCEP member countries. The workshop introduced Japanese government policies and initiatives to participating companies.
Akinori Adachi, CEO of STANDAGE Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akinori Adachi; hereinafter referred to as STANDAGE), which develops and provides digital trade platforms, and Yusuke Takezawa, CSO of Progmat Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tatsuya Saito; hereinafter referred to as Progmat), which partners with STANDAGE, both took the stage on the third day for a session on "trade facilitation."
In that session, after Progmat presented on stablecoins used on the blockchain, Standage raised concerns about existing trade settlement systems and proposed that "DigiTrad Payment," which is being tested in collaboration with Progmat, has the potential to revolutionize the future of trade settlement systems.
Furthermore, on the first day of the event, presentations were given by government officials and private companies on securing digital markets, and on the second day, presentations were given on a reliable digital economy.
Standage will continue to contribute to innovations in trade settlements and the development of trade with the ASEAN region.
