[Choosing the Right Country to Avoid Mistakes] Which Country Will Your Products Sell Best? Market Research Seminar for Small and Medium-Sized Manufacturers

Event Outline

I have products I'd like to sell overseas.

However, the most common question we receive is, "We don't know which country we should target."

Choosing the wrong country can make it difficult for subsequent efforts to yield results.

Countries where we cannot enter due to regulations, countries where the price range is not suitable, and countries where there is simply no demand for our product category.

If you only realize it after you've started, you'll end up losing both time and money.

On the other hand, simply researching doesn't guarantee you'll find the answer.

The publicly available statistics tell us whether Japanese products are selling in that country, but they don't tell us whether our own company's products are selling.

Ultimately, the decision will have to be made based on the limited information available.

In this seminar, we will systematically explain the criteria we actually use when selecting the optimal export country.

What should you investigate first, where should you draw the line, and at what stage should you apply your findings to the actual situation?

The aim is not to provide comprehensive coverage of the survey, but rather to offer participants a framework for making informed decisions.

Speakers

  • 平木 克実

    STANDAGE Co., Ltd. Sales Manager

    Katsumi Hiraki

I spent approximately five years at an IT company working in corporate sales, where I was involved in solving corporate problems.

Although I don't come from the trading industry, that's precisely why I can see things from the same perspective as companies considering overseas trade for the first time and understand where they encounter hurdles.

For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expanding overseas, they face obstacles such as a lack of know-how, manpower, and language barriers.

Seeing the potential in STANDAGE's "Omakase Trading" service, which comprehensively solves these problems, I joined the company and am currently working to promote the service.

My assigned areas are Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Chubu, and Kyushu.

We are involved in developing overseas sales channels for approximately 500 companies annually, and we work in cooperation with local governments and chambers of commerce to support small and medium-sized enterprises in their first foray into overseas markets.
