【事例3社】いまも最大の輸出先・アメリカをどう攻める?中小メーカーのための販路開拓セミナー

Tuesday, November 17, 2026 14:00 - 15:00

[Case Studies: 3 Companies] How to conquer the US, still our largest export market? A sales channel development seminar for small and medium-sized manufacturers.

Event Outline

We know that America is a huge market.

However, with the ongoing news coverage surrounding tariffs, many companies are taking a wait-and-see approach, wondering if now is the right time to act.

On the other hand, the numbers reveal a different picture.
In 2025, Japan's exports of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products and food were projected to reach a record high for the 13th consecutive year, with the United States being the top export destination.

Even amid discussions about the impact of tariff measures, shipments to the United States are more than 10% higher than the previous year.

Local demand for Japanese products remains uninterrupted.

However, the United States is not a market you can enter without preparation.
For food products, there are several things that need to be done before shipment, including facility registration with the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration).

Furthermore, because the country is vast and consumers and business practices differ from region to region, it is necessary to decide which city and which sales channels to use to enter the market.

This seminar will provide an overview of the current state of the American market, and then explain the preparations you should make before starting exports, as well as how to choose the right entry point.

We will also introduce the progress of three case studies, including companies that have completed FDA registration and begun making proposals to the local market.

Speakers

  • 平木 克実

    STANDAGE Co., Ltd. Sales Manager

    Katsumi Hiraki

I spent approximately five years at an IT company working in corporate sales, where I was involved in solving corporate problems.

Although I don't come from the trading industry, that's precisely why I can see things from the same perspective as companies considering overseas trade for the first time and understand where they encounter hurdles.

For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expanding overseas, they face obstacles such as a lack of know-how, manpower, and language barriers.

Seeing the potential in STANDAGE's "Omakase Trading" service, which comprehensively solves these problems, I joined the company and am currently working to promote the service.

My assigned areas are Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Chubu, and Kyushu.

We are involved in developing overseas sales channels for approximately 500 companies annually, and we work in cooperation with local governments and chambers of commerce to support small and medium-sized enterprises in their first foray into overseas markets.
