    Member of the House of Councillors, Representative for the National Proportional Representation District

    Hiroshi Nakata

    Born in Yokohama City in 1964. After graduating from Aoyama Gakuin University, he entered the Matsushita Institute of Government and Management. At the age of 28, he was elected to the House of Representatives, and at 37, he became the Mayor of Yokohama. After serving four terms in the House of Representatives and two terms as Mayor of Yokohama, he is currently a member of the House of Councillors representing the Liberal Democratic Party on a national proportional representation basis, serving on a total of four parliamentary committees, including the Committee on Economy, Trade and Industry and the Budget Committee. He is also a familiar face to television viewers as a sharp-tongued commentator on programs such as "Sokomade Itte Iinkai" (Let's Say It All Committee).
