A trading company importing household goods takes on the challenge of developing overseas sales channels—a turning point towards "selling" trade.Takeda Corporation
Founded in 1907, Takeda Corporation is a long-established trading company specializing in the import and wholesale of household goods. Leveraging its global procurement network centered in China and diverse sales channels including home centers and mass retailers nationwide, the company has steadily expanded its business. Now, as its next stage of growth, the company is venturing into overseas expansion as a seller. The starting point for this was STANDAGE's "Omakase Trading" service.
assignment
- The complexities of managing business negotiations after exhibiting at a trade show.
- Inefficiency of overseas sales due to limited in-house resources
- Lack of expertise in market research and credit investigations
current situation
- Significant reduction in lost business opportunities after trade shows.
- Improving internal response capabilities through business process centralization
- Creating new sales channels through the launch of cross-border e-commerce.
Could you tell us what led you to introduce STANDAGE's automated trading service this time?
We primarily engage in import operations from China, and have been successfully running this business for approximately 30 years. However, our future business strategy focused on strengthening sales in overseas markets. We had participated in international trade shows in the past, but had not achieved the desired results, and this situation had been a source of concern for us.
Around that time, our company president had the opportunity to speak with a STANDAGE sales representative he met at a trade show, and learned about "Omakase Trading." We felt that this could effectively support our overseas expansion without requiring us to use many of our own resources, so we decided to implement it.
What exactly did it entail?
One of the main reasons we adopted "Omakase Trade" was the ability to entrust all trade-related tasks to them in one place. In particular, the fact that they could handle tasks necessary for smooth overseas business operations, such as credit checks, market research, marketing, and negotiation support, was very appealing. We were also particularly interested in the "Trade Cloud" system (a cloud platform provided by STANDAGE that streamlines the entire trade operation). This system organizes all export-related information, prevents reliance on individual expertise, and increases the transparency of operations.
Furthermore, STANDAGE also handles exhibiting at overseas trade shows, and provides support for post-show follow-up and information management. This significantly reduces the workload of tasks that were previously managed separately, and we expect it to enable more efficient operations.

What effects have you seen since implementing it?
After implementing "Omakase Trading," our first request was for trade show participation on our behalf. Previously, when we exhibited at trade shows ourselves, we often missed business opportunities because we weren't able to adequately follow up after the shows or organize the information. However, after entrusting this to STANDAGE, this aspect has improved significantly. In addition, our operations have been centralized, and we are creating an environment where anyone in the company can handle things smoothly.
In addition to exhibiting at overseas trade shows, we have also launched a test environment for cross-border e-commerce. We anticipate this will lead to increased sales in overseas markets in the future.
What kind of support do you expect from Omakase Trading in the future?

Moving forward, we aim to expand into even more countries, working with our staff in China and Vietnam to establish a base in overseas markets. We will continue to ask STANDAGE to provide us with primary information, such as local market research and competitive analysis, and we look forward to their support in developing strategies tailored to each market.
Comment from Mr. Takeda of Takeda Corporation
The biggest reason I would recommend "Omakase Trading" to other companies is that it allows you to entrust all your trading operations to one company. I feel that being able to carry out operations efficiently and smoothly while minimizing our own resources is a huge advantage.
Furthermore, the fact that they have a system in place to flexibly respond to changes in the environment, and that they provide support regarding optimal payment methods and new payment options, is very reassuring. 'Omakase Trading' is sure to be a reliable partner for companies looking to expand globally.
