Competing with Japan's rare eggs: A poultry company's global challengeEgg Center Yamate Co., Ltd.
Egg Center Yamate Co., Ltd. is a wholesale company that sells "Momiji Tamago," a brand of eggs laid by the purebred Japanese chicken "Momiji." Its rich flavor, beautiful appearance, and safety ensured by thorough quality control have earned it steady support in the domestic market. However, facing structural challenges such as a declining birthrate, an aging population, and a shrinking market, the company decided to venture into overseas exports as its next pillar of growth. To deliver Japanese-quality eggs to the world, they have adopted STANDAGE's "Omakase Trading" service.
assignment
- Restructuring of growth strategy due to decline in domestic demand
- Shortage of practical knowledge and personnel necessary for overseas exports
- Shift from externally led to internally led development
current situation
- Promoting overseas sales activities through English-language business negotiation services.
- Building a business negotiation strategy based on local market needs
- Establishing a system to accumulate export know-how in-house
Could you tell us what led you to introduce STANDAGE's automated trading service this time?
As the Japanese domestic market continued to shrink, we were no exception, and our profits were being squeezed by increasingly fierce price competition year after year. We could not expect sustainable growth with domestic sales alone, so we began to consider expanding into overseas markets as the "next stage." However, developing overseas sales channels is not easy. Exporting through existing trading companies was an extension of price competition, and we faced the dilemma of not being able to accumulate know-how in-house. That's when we turned our attention to STANDAGE's "Omakase Trading" (Leave it to us trading) service.
The main reason we decided to implement "Omakase Trading" was that its service design aligned perfectly with our idea of "first entrusting overseas transactions to a third party, and then establishing a system where we can handle them ourselves afterward."
What exactly did it entail?
Since implementing the system, the greatest value we've found is STANDAGE's support for our overseas sales activities. Specifically, they provide comprehensive support for tasks that would be difficult for us to handle on our own, such as matching us with local companies, conducting business negotiations in English, and negotiating terms.
Furthermore, we find it very reassuring that STANDAGE can leverage its local network to provide information based on the realities and business practices of overseas markets. The ability to receive strategic advice on "how to sell" and "where to sell," rather than just simple translation or interpretation, is a unique strength of STANDAGE, thanks to its locally rooted infrastructure.

What effects have you seen since implementing it?
While exports are not yet fully operational, we are steadily laying the foundation for our overseas expansion. Currently, we are working to finalize contracts with reliable business partners.
In the future, we aim to build a system that allows us to handle trade operations in-house through these experiences. While it's not realistic to internalize everything from the start, we hope to build a sustainable overseas business by gradually accumulating know-how, using "Omakase Trading" as a springboard.
What kind of support do you expect from Omakase Trading in the future?
Currently, our exports are limited to specific regions, so we are considering expanding to Singapore and other areas in the future. To achieve this, we need to overcome the legal regulations and import/export requirements of each country, and we expect STANDAGE to continue providing information and sales support to help us overcome these hurdles.
In particular, we hope you will continue to be a reliable partner in "developing business partners that can secure a solid gross profit" and "building profitable export schemes."

Comment from Mr. Yamate of Egg Center Yamate
"Omakase Trading" is an extremely reliable resource for companies venturing into overseas markets for the first time..They provide professional support for contract negotiations and on-site communication that you can't handle in-house, allowing you to take your first step while minimizing risks.
Furthermore, STANDAGE has offices all over the world, and a major advantage is that they offer support that is not limited to a specific area, but also looks ahead to future multi-regional expansion. For companies that are feeling anxious about expanding overseas, I would definitely recommend that they consult with them.
