"Sales through legwork" creates business opportunities: The challenge of a medical and healthcare equipment manufacturer.Aioi Electronics Co., Ltd.
Aioi Electronics Co., Ltd. is a company that plans, develops, designs, and manufactures massage chairs, medical devices, software, and control panels. We hold licenses for the manufacture and sale of medical devices, and we implement strict quality control based on product safety and quality standards. Amidst this, we are actively pursuing export business with the aim of expanding our operations both domestically and internationally.
assignment
- The difficulty of establishing a support system for products that require after-sales service.
- Costs and personnel shortages in technology transfer overseas.
current situation
- Addressing the shortage of internal resources
- Implementation of sales activities and market development tailored to the local market.
- Product feedback and business development through exhibition participation
Could you tell us what led you to introduce STANDAGE's automated trading service this time?
As part of our new growth strategy, we have been considering entering the export business, with a particular focus on the Vietnamese market. Over the past two years, we have received support from JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) and have taken concrete steps in this endeavor, such as compiling a list of potential sales agents and conducting business negotiations. However, our massage chairs are products that require after-sales service, such as after-care and repair support, and the business cannot be sustained by simply "selling and being done with it." Initially, we attempted to export with a company introduced to us by a local bank, but we encountered significant challenges in establishing a continuous support system after the sale.
To effectively transfer technology to local areas and establish a proper maintenance system, it was not realistic for our company to do it alone in terms of personnel and costs. It was while searching for a way to solve these problems that we came across "Omakase Trading."
The deciding factor in adopting "Omakase Trading" was the appeal of its service model, which handles export operations from start to finish. The fact that we could receive comprehensive support without having to send personnel to the overseas location was a great source of reassurance for our company.
What exactly did it entail?
What we particularly value is their marketing activities in the local market. Our most important challenge is developing sales agents who understand the appeal of our products, and in that respect, we highly appreciate STANDAGE's ability to execute these strategies.

What effects have you seen since implementing it?
Although we are still in the early stages, we are seeing steady progress, including exhibiting at local trade shows and developing sales channels. For example, our products were exhibited at Arab Health (one of the world's largest medical device trade shows held in Dubai), and we were able to receive valuable feedback from local buyers and end-users. This will be an extremely useful source of information for future product improvements and new product development.
Since we do not have an overseas sales department, STANDAGE's support is essentially our overseas sales team, and we intend to continue this system going forward, and also consider expanding it to other products.
What kind of support do you expect from Omakase Trading in the future?
We have absolutely no intention of ending our relationship with you upon the termination of the contract, and we would like to continue to ask for your support in the future. In particular, even after securing an agent, our policy is to continue entrusting the operation of our trade business itself to STANDAGE.
Regarding sales activities, since it is difficult for us to secure resources ourselves, we would like to ask STANDAGE to continue to handle local sales promotion activities and market engagement. Furthermore, for future development, we are considering expanding into other product categories in addition to the products we currently handle. Therefore, we hope to receive even greater support from you in the future.

Comment from Mr. Akita of Aioi Electronics
We believe that "Omakase Trading" is a very effective option for companies that are about to start expanding overseas. Deploying dedicated staff or establishing bases overseas requires significant investment, and overseas business often involves unexpected problems and risks.
In that respect, building a collaborative relationship with STANDAGE from the start offers a significant advantage: we can minimize initial investment and human resource risks while gaining practical know-how. Although sales are still in the early stages, we are seeing steady results and feel that we have taken a big step forward for the future.
