Could you tell us what led you to introduce STANDAGE's automated trading service this time?

Our company operates a food and beverage business, and while researching subsidy programs when establishing a new central kitchen, we came across information about "export-related subsidy programs," which was the catalyst for us to seriously consider overseas expansion. In fact, when we participated in an event held by a major Japanese department store in Singapore with our "frozen sushi," we achieved a certain level of sales. However, on the other hand, we also realized that there are many hurdles to exporting, such as "different food additive regulations in each country" and "the complexity of obtaining certifications."

It was at that time that I came across STANDAGE. I received information about their "Leave it to us trading" service, and what particularly impressed me was that they provided very specific information directly relevant to practical matters, such as "This additive can be used in this country" and "Having this kind of certification is advantageous."

Previously, people said "exporting sushi is difficult," but now that feeling has changed to "maybe it's possible." The significant reduction in the psychological barrier was the deciding factor in adopting this technology.

What exactly did it entail?

It's been about six months since we implemented the system, and we're still in the early stages of full operation, but what we value most is its "information provision capabilities." We are very reassured by the fact that we receive advice based on primary sources that cannot be obtained through internet searches, such as regulations, business practices, and certification systems in exporting countries.

Going forward, we expect more in-depth support in the marketing domain, such as proposals regarding package design and sales channels. Their speedy and on-the-ground approach is a great support for our business development.

What effects have you seen since implementing it?

In the spring of 2024, we successfully completed our initial shipment and officially launched our export business. Our short-term goal is to achieve monthly sales of 1,000 packs in Asia. Furthermore, in the medium to long term, we are also considering entering the American market, which is considered an even higher hurdle. We believe that gaining experience in the United States will significantly enhance the credibility and value of our brand.

The challenge lies in balancing pricing and cost management. Lowering prices too much could damage brand value. Therefore, we would like to work with STANDAGE to address appropriate pricing and cost strategies going forward.

What kind of support do you expect from Omakase Trading in the future?

What we look forward to most is, without a doubt, "real, firsthand information."
